Lake Solano (Putah Creek), Winters: launch details
Calm, narrow flatwater on Putah Creek below Monticello Dam. No gas or electric motors are allowed, so the water stays glassy and beginner-friendly. The water is very cold year-round because it is released from the bottom of Lake Berryessa. Free launch for hand-carried and car-top craft (day-use fee applies), with picnic sites and restrooms. Quiet, shaded, and rich with birdlife, and well known for fly fishing.
