Petaluma River Turning Basin, Petaluma: launch details
A public launch in the heart of downtown Petaluma on the tidal Petaluma River, navigable downriver to San Pablo Bay. Put in from Cavanagh Landing, a large U-shaped dock reached by gangways from the River Plaza or Weller Street sides. Parking is limited to a few spots in the Weller Street lot plus street parking, with restaurants, breweries, and shops steps away. The river is tidal with sometimes strong winds and currents and occasional barge traffic. A paddlesports shop a few blocks away offers rentals and lessons.
