Petaluma River, Petaluma: launch details
Two put-ins on the same tidal river. The Petaluma Marina near Hwy 101 has a 24-hour public boat ramp with ample parking. Upstream, the Petaluma Basin has a floating dock beside the old River House on Weller Street. Calm, ideal for mellow out-and-back sessions through marshland. Stick to mornings; afternoon NW winds can make the return a slog. In July, time it with Bands on the Basin for live music on the water.
