Drakes Estero, Point Reyes Station: launch details
A pristine tidal estuary in Point Reyes with glassy water, harbor seals, and almost no powerboats. Launch is 0.7 miles down a dirt road off Sir Francis Drake Blvd near the Schooner Creek bridge. Closed March 1 through June 30 for seal pupping; otherwise time mid-to-high tide to avoid stranding on mudflats.
