McNear's Beach, San Rafael: launch details
A long, narrow sandy beach on the Bay Water Trail with easy access to San Pablo Bay. Launching is a carry-in off the sand, not a paved ramp. The county park charges an entrance fee. Mudflats extend far offshore at low tide, making launch and landing genuinely difficult: come at mid or high tide and watch for strong currents near the pier.
