Baby Beach, Dana Point: launch details
Crescent of sand inside Dana Point Harbor, fully behind the breakwater, so the water stays flat with no surf. This is the calmest launch in the county and the usual place people learn. Parking, restrooms and a park behind the beach; a marina sits immediately east.
