Jarvis Landing / Newark Slough, Newark: launch details
A paved put-in inside Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge, with up to 10 miles of protected slough paddling through shorebird and waterfowl habitat. No inspection required. The sloughs run shallow on a low tide. An endangered saltmarsh harvest mouse lives in the adjacent vegetation, so stay on the water.
