Lower Sherman Island Fishing Access, Rio Vista: launch details
A wildlife area access at the Sacramento and San Joaquin confluence, renowned for windsurfing and kiteboarding because of the powerful Delta breeze. Paddlers hand launch from the access road into open, exposed water, with restrooms and primitive day use nearby. Expect very strong wind, heavy tidal current, and large motorboat traffic, which make this one of the most demanding launches in the Delta.
