Cosumnes River Preserve, Galt: launch details
Calm tidal sloughs and flatwater channels through a protected wetland known for abundant birdlife, including wintering sandhill cranes. Access and parking are free, and paddlers hand-carry kayaks, canoes, or SUPs about 200 yards from the upper lot to the launch. Motorized boats are not permitted, so the water stays quiet, though currents can run fast after winter storms.
